Flower vases

For Japanese people, it’s said a flower is an exchange between nature and the human mind. Japanese “IKEBANA” means not only a flower arrangement but also live flowers as they are in the field. In my life, the wild flowers have  healed me and flower vases have great prominence in my work. I got the idea for my flower vases from walking in the forest. There are some flowers which look like they are being held in the huge root of a tree, or bloom in the hole of a tree. I was inspired by such a feeling. So I make full use of the wood which has some faults like a knot, crack, root, or hole so I am able to arrange flowers inside of them. Then the wood that was fated for the trash box is reborn as a flower vase. It has the power to change the room it is placed in, for the atmosphere of nature is beyond just the vase.
